Vero Wins General Insurance Company of the Year

Vero Insurance has won the General Insurance Company of the Year award at the 2022 ANZIIF Awards held in Auckland.  

This award recognises companies that have demonstrated strong performance and outstanding service for their customers. 

“This is a great result that reflects our commitment to being there for our customers in the moments that matter,” says Jimmy Higgins, CEO of Suncorp New Zealand, which includes the Vero and Asteron Life brands.  

Higgins says highlights for Vero over the past two years include the launch of Lifeline Connect, a service that involves training frontline staff to identify customers who may be experiencing vulnerability and then connecting these customers to support groups who can help them out.  

“We are very proud to have launched this proactive support service at no cost to customers that centres around the wellbeing and safety of those who are going through difficult times.  

“Over the past couple of years, we’ve also shared our plans to remove gender-based factors from car insurance and made great progress on our affordable car insurance product, Drive which is designed to provide affordable cover for New Zealanders who are excluded from the traditional car insurance market.” 

Suncorp New Zealand was also a finalist on the night for the Excellence in Workplace Diversity & Inclusion award, and its Asteron Life brand was a finalist for Life Insurance Company of the Year.
